NFRS Stud Register

The NFRS stud register can be found at www.nfrs.org/studregister.html

Definition of a Stud

A stud is considered by the committee to be a collection of animals kept and bred at one location.   Following a combination of breeding and show success, the rattery may apply for stud registration and a studname.

  • There can be only one studname per membership.
  • Any multiple memberships per studname must reside under the same roof.

Eligibility

  • All wins must be earned under fully paid-up NFRS championship/show judges.
  • The candidates must be NFRS members in order to earn their studnames.
  • The rats considered must be bred by the candidate and attain either of the following awards:
    • NFRS silver champion - 8 stars on 1 rat
    • 2 x BIS/BOA/RBIS on one or two rats under two different judges.
  • At least one award must be at an NFRS show, the other may be at an NFRS affiliated club show providing the NFRS judge agrees in writing that the rat is of suitable quality (by signing an award label on the back of the appropriate prize card).
  • These awards to apply equally if the rat is owned and/or exhibited by another member.
  • The application must be made to the EC along with supporting prize cards for the rat, the suggested stud name and a registration fee at the current rate
